manage the tax aspects of all our client engagements.
DAS Professional Services is a highly entrepreneurial management
consulting firm that specializes in Controller and Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) services. Our small, but rapidly growing firm enjoys a
friendly business culture and a pleasant working environment. We
offer a reasonable work week, minimal travel, competitive salary,
semi-annual review and performance bonus, commission for new
business brought into the firm, health insurance, and retirement
plan with employer match.
The Tax Manager will be responsible for the tax aspects of all our
client engagements, including tax return preparation, strategic tax
planning, and tax research. The ideal individual will be a quick
learner and be capable of handling a wide variety of
responsibilities independently. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills are required. In addition, candidates should
have at least 5 years of professional experience, with a heavy
concentration in tax return preparation. An existing book of tax
clients is a plus; however, it is not a requirement.
Job description and duties:
1. Manage the tax aspect of all client engagements
2. Review income, payroll, and property tax returns
3. Provide strategic tax planning for clients
4. Perform tax research
5. Perform tax training
6. Participate in overall management and growth of the firm
Job requirements:
1. Technically strong in taxation
2. CPA or masters degree in taxation preferred
3. 5 years of professional experience, with a heavy concentration in
tax return preparation
4. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
5. Proficient with accounting software, ideally with QuickBooks and
Peachtree
6. Proficient with tax preparation software, ideally with Lacerte
7. Proficient using Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft
Word, Excel, and Outlook
8. Ability to mange multiple engagements
9. Existing book of tax clients a plus, but not mandatory
Compensation and benefits:

Workweek:
Total 1,240 hours per year
January-April, 4-5 days per week, 40 hours per week

office after 1-3 years. Responsibilities will include marketing,
sales, management consulting, and accounting/tax. The ideal
individual will be a quick learner and be capable of handling a wide
variety of responsibilities independently. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should have at
least 2 years of public accounting or controller experience, with at
least 1 year of sales experience. This position offers a great deal
of experience, challenge, and the ability to become an entrepreneur.

9. Manage client engagements and staff
10. Prepare and review management reports and financial statements

Job requirements:
10. CPA or MBA preferred
11. 2+ years of public accounting or controller experience
12. 1+ years of sales experience
13. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
14. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
15. Familiarity with accounting and tax software programs, ideally
QuickBooks, Peachtree, and Lacerte
16. Ability to mange multiple engagements
17. Ability to hire and mange staff
18. Willing to relocate in 1-3 years (Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids,
Toledo, etc.)

Bookkeeper

Our Full-Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for preparing
financial statements and management reports, preparing deposits and
ACHing client funds, preparing checks, preparing invoices, and
preparing payroll. Ability to assist in IT functions is a plus, but
not a requirement. The Full-Charge Bookkeeper will report directly
to the CEO.
